HEATIN' UP

This isn't kid stuff folks, this is exciting, this is RACING!!

It's like the heat races that used to happen back in the good old days.  I remember them well.  Generally three heat races, and then the main event.  Looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.  It sounds like the drivers are going to have fun with the "new" format.

Standing in front of the NASCAR HALL OF FAME 5/2013

In spite of the fact that my "Hero" is only notable by the Large Brick in Row 3, off to the left hand side of the front doors, I enjoyed my journey through the Hall of Fame.  I suspect that in part was due to the beautiful day, the LugNut sighting, and the Movie theme.  The building was well thought out.  I particularly like the banked road with the cars lined up.  I was fortunate enough to be a part of the NASCAR family when one was able to  walk through "The Pits" after the conclusion of the race.  The experience was enhanced by having a parent on a pit-crew.  We were able to sit in the cars. We were in the thick of the end of the race mayhem.  Fans looking for autographs. Crew and Driver throwing back a few cold ones. Jokes. Stories. Excitement.

I have climbed up the banks of "The Monster Mile" innumerable times. Gritty. Smelly. High.
